Sorry, I should have been more clear - the header has looked like that since the new logo was introduced. It was just with the introduction addition of the carousel that it became a nuisance by pushing new content below the fold. (Edit: grammar)

Yeah, that's what I've experienced as well. I'm primarily on an iPad and the load times went through the roof.
