I've been trying to find out how much damage lava would do? I found a Lava Trap, and this COULD work, but is there a place that actually states how much damage it does?

The only thing I can think of is that he got it from the DMG, because it's certainly not in the PhB. But I don't have the DMG in front of me. The same player also said that Draconic is the same thing as Abyssal, just a different dialect. As soon as I get home I'm going to look up languages...

This was my exact answer to our DM, but he said something like, "Well, if that were true, they wouldn't have words of power in them. If you used a feat to get a language that gave you words of power, that would be unbalanced, since you'd have a whole bunch of new powers."
