Seconded! You hit the nail straight on its head imo, Morrus. :)

How to make a maze work?

Haha. Then there's the matter of appropriate design and presentation... ;P

How to make a maze work?

Hahaha! I lol'd... :P Ahh, the beauty of forums... Who ever checks the date, eh? ^^ I thought it was a cool thread and got all fired up... I like mazes... :]

How to make a maze work?

I designed a maze which wouldn't work with that trick. Tracing the walls would lead you into "dead-end" loops or back to the start. I did this by making the corridors very long and curved, so the maze sort of looked like layered spirals, and the floors slightly inclined leading under and above...

Ressurection and Drama "Don't worry, we'll rez you after this"

All the raise dead/ressurection spells have a material component. If you want to limit these spells just inform the players that diamonds that big are very rare. Even more so because they've been spent ressurecting people for ages. I always thought this was the best logical choice for...

How were you introduced to RPGs?

There was this guy, big brother of one of my friends, who played D&D with some friends, and me and my buddy soo wanted to join, but they wouldn't let us kids join in. Then, it turns out, his smoking hot, but very twisted sister, who was a few years older than us, stole his books and wanted to DM...

Boxed Text - A Railrod Sign, or Great tool for Immersion? Both?

I used boxed texts alot before, but noticing how little my players actually got out of it I started experimenting with enhancements to delivering atmospheric descriptions. I've had great success with adding preselected pieces of music or atmospheric sound recordings to accentuate events...

    How do you pronounce 'melee?'

Wow, I missed that one. Looked it up and it should be more like "Coo de grahs" Thanks for the correction! Our RPG-group will immediately start dealing death blows rather than fat blows to helpless enemies... :P

I love DMing, but I like playing too! :(

I my group I think these were some of the possible excuses: Thinks DMing sounds like a chore/not willing to spend time preparing. Puts the DM-job on a pedestal. They don't think they can do it themselves. Doesn't like the attention. Not enough time. Don't know the rules well enough/doesn't want...

    How do you pronounce 'melee?'

I used to pronounce melee "meh-lee", and lich "leesh" when I was younger. However, after becoming aware of the most likely correct pronounciations I've been saying "mey-ley" and "litsh" increasingly. :) Coup de grace I pronounce "coo de graa".

I love DMing, but I like playing too! :(

I've had it sort of like you guys, except that I managed to convince two of my friends to try it out, and they're pretty good at it too. It wasn't easy, as one of them gave up after the first few tries and didn't dare to go again after a few years when he finally decided that running a forgotten...

arguing with my DM: The Leadership feat(and a wizard)

Well, Oryan, if you were listening to me you'd hear that if he in fact acted so brazenly because he was tired of me rather than being honest and direct that is exactly the sort of thing I won't accept. Call me a problem player if you like, but he cannot expect to be treated with respect if he...

arguing with my DM: The Leadership feat(and a wizard)

That's allright. :) Actually, I don't count on getting to keep it. It's way too powerful. I consider it a quest-related key item for helping in the fight vs the high-lvl wizard. This is metagaming though, so for now I'm just enjoying the moment, getting to crush a few encounters with this...

arguing with my DM: The Leadership feat(and a wizard)

No Oryan77. You haven't been listening. It depends on the campaign and rules of play. If the DM says "everything in pathfinder core is cool, with the exception of these house rules. I might allow things from various 3,5 books, but I'll have to approve anything you might want from those." I'll...
