Interesting, I can't get in there while logged out either. Peter

    D&D links

When I'm logged in and I want to go the D&D links section, I get: Eben, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access...

    printing woes

I'm trying to print out your spell card demo, but I can't get both sides of the page to overlap nicely. Which is a major bummer as you can understand. I'm guessing this has something to do with the fact that the paper size we use in Europe (A4) differs from the size you've optimized your product...

    playing without divine magic

That sounds pretty good. You still have the problem that during longer episodes with a lot of action (like a dungeon crawl) you'll need some serious rest to replenish reserve points or you only postpone the inevitable. But I think I'll go with this. Thanks! Peter

    castle ravenloft ... again?

Maybe I should try to rephrase my question a bit, to save some of you the trouble of trying to read my mind. I have a party in which some people played the original module. Everybody has played quite a bit of AD&D Ravenloft (up to roots of evil). Do the people with some knowledge of the new...

    castle ravenloft ... again?

Simple question: if you have played the original module (and years of Ravenlof after that), how enjoyable will this new edition be? Peter

    playing without divine magic

I feel I should explain my intentions a bit better. There are gods that are willing to send their divine power to their worshippers. Only problem is that magic in my world is only provided though physical structures called oracles. These oracles only provide power for a limited region through a...

    playing without divine magic

A few days ago I placed a rough plot idea in this forum to find out if folks over here thought it would work. http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?p=3107168#post3107168 Some of the feedback started me thinking about the consequenses for divine magic. Would D&D work without it? Healing would...

please poke holes in my idea

Thanks for all the idea's so far! Actually bardsandsages and Auraseer both raise valid points. It's a fine line between constricting a solid plot and retaining enough flexibility to accomodate your players. As to who or what constructed the oracles, I don't want to nail down too many hard facts...

please poke holes in my idea

I don't consider that to be a plot hole: you don't need a car to invent the wheel. Peter

please poke holes in my idea

Good idea! This will give me a handle to slow down or advance the invasion, making this a bit more believable. Peter

please poke holes in my idea

As to restoring the magical energy, I'dd like to make it a mechanical thing, but not on this plane, but on the plane that fuels the structures. Perhaps staging a war in the heavens with the pantheon of the players world defending their last refuge agains the hordes of chaos. (Maybe I should use...

please poke holes in my idea

I wasn't thinking aliens, but something from the planes. Perhaps demons or devils, I still have to look through a few monster books to find something interesting. But that's a detail imo. I like the idea of destroying the oracles! As for the weak mages... There would be only one working oracle...

please poke holes in my idea

I'm working on a meta-plot idea and I want to check if it can stand up to scrutiny. Here goes: Magic only works in a geograhical limited area of the world. The reason is that certain structures tap into the otherworldly magical energies and emmit them over limited radius. It is possible that...
