You're not alone. I'm backing at the Special Edition level but added a regular copy because I just couldn't chose between them. I'm normally not someone who goes all out on RPG Kickstarters but this one has one my heart.
Interesting that it looks like past Free League Kickstarters have seen a pretty steady rise after the initial flurry to around twice the first day's take (via Kicktraq). There's definitely an upswing at the end, but that slow and steady isn't negligible.
I think you could back without a reward at 1,998 SEK and then get it in the Pledge Manager. You also might be able to get just the book in a late pledge with the Pledge Manger.
I think they may even have confirmed Core and starter will be in it in the Effekt podcast interview. They did say it's their largest yet.
Regardless, I'm getting everything.
There's also going to be black and white art by Alvaro Tapia that kind of evoke the best of Agnus McBride's MERP art to me (from the little we've seen).
All we know (and likely all we'll ever know) is that the art and text of the Cubicle 7 TOR 2E belonged to Cubicle 7, while the rules belonged to Sophisticated Games. SG partnered with Free League after the C7 deal broke down. It's possible FL tried to buy the art from C7 and a deal couldn't be...
It actually evokes Tolkien's own drawing for the cover of The Two Towers, which I think is pretty cool.
Some good news for you regarding TOR 2E then is that Francesco has said the travel rules are getting a big revision and simplification iirc.
The One Ring 2nd Edition by Free League Publishing and King Arthur Pendragon 6th Edition by Chaosium (the link doesn't say 2021 but Dave Larkins has indicated in several places it's intended to come out next year).
