Since Beacon of Hope has the Healing keyword would you add your wisdom modifier to the 5 hitpoints due to the Healer's Lore class feature?

Sorry if this has been posted before. How does targeting attacks work through allies? Lets assume a defender is up front keeping the enemies at bay and the rest of the party is spread behind. Can a magic missle, bow, or anything else be targeted through the defender? I am especially confused...
