LunarVixen Hijacking here...
It's been a couple of years now.. and I would love to hear how things are going.. Ever since we started using the Character Builder and just modifying the character sheet in it to suit how we wanted it.. we haven't used my character sheets as much I would like.. but...
Throw in an animal companion. This gives extra "actions" and an extra flanker to the party...
Use the rules from MP from the ranger to make the creature.
I just want to say thank you for all the hard work to those who were laid and my best wishes this christmas season. Sadly I can't think of anything else to add that isnt pretty much a me-too of an above post...
Thank you - glad to help out ;)
This works. A couple of cavets however.
1) Dice numbers.
On a d8 the average is 4.5. You are rounding up to 5. Which is works, but on the other hand the "standard" rounding rule for D&D is to round fractions down.
If you were to do so it might make it easier...
Against equal level enemies it should work fine - but if you start adding monsters above or below the party level, or using elites/Solos (or even some brutes) the max/2x max gets a bit swingy...
* All damage is averaged out for both PCs and monsters. Each die averages to the following: 1d4=3, 1d6=4, 1d8=5, 1d10=6 1d12=7. You do not roll dice for damage.
* All crits double damage.
- I think this works out better than max/2x max on crit. Though I think it would still be better as...

Using a magic item from the Adventures Vault and a new class power from the Martial Power book it appears we can make a psedo-monk using a rogue.
For you consideration:
So - using your unarmed attacks as if they were with a club, and you are treated as if you were using a Light Blade while...
I only see two fighter powers that have lasting marks that cannot be superseeded. That means no one else can mark them. There are a few that mark a target until the end of the encounter but they say they can be superseeded...

Healing potions and lots of them.
In my campaign the Dragonborn ranger has tons of them and she uses quickdraw to pull them out as a free action and I allow her to heal as a minor action with them.
One round she used 4 potions on herself and her allies. (1 minor, 1 standard, 1 move and 1...
Wow. Useful.
My advice to the OP - if you want to run a solo campaign and you DM is ok with it (or you're the dm and are setting up for a PC), it sounds like a cool idea!
I agree that a stripped down system would be great for these. :) I'm eyeing it for this use as well.
I agree with your math. In the end adding for highcrit/magic weapons would likely throw out the system.
If we really want to dig into the math however, I'm not sure about the max/2x max...
