Here's a few that I supported that I never expect to see fulfilled:
Fabled Paths - Funded February 2022. Due October 2022. A neat looking sand-box system built on 0e that had its last update the month it was due. According to others in the comments the author died.
Pythagorean Pharmacology -...
I bought a copy of the game book and the creature manual two years ago. It's clearly POD as both books have a date on the last page that matches the day I purchased them through Amazon. I'll be honest, I haven't spent much time reading them, but the author has some interesting design choices...
I was primarily an AD&D guy back in the day. After being away from the hobby for three decades, I missed all of the post-TSR Gygax works, so I'm kind of thrilled to get an artifact from his last few years without paying collector's prices for it.
My impression from the announcement videos is...
In true Troll Lord Games fashion, the email they sent out was not proofread closely enough and it lists the 2005 price of $39.95. The actual cost for the book + PDF in 2023 is $65.
Another note: TLG’s current plan is to print the book as it was, errors, typos, and all. So be sure to hunt down...
IIRC, the 9th printing of the PHB has very minor updates when compared to the 8th printing (10 misspellings fixed according to one source). I think they ran out of stock of the 8th because of the popularity of the AD&D-homage covers and were forced to do a quick re-print to keep up with demand...
I think you're right, the setting is mostly a hexcrawl. I'm sure adventures written for it will be full of dungeons that can be explored, but I don't know if Dolmenwood has any specific dungeon-crawling mechanics like Shadowdark. I saw a post in the Shadowdark Facebook group this morning from...
OK, I get that. Gavin basically house-ruled the system he knows best to fit the game world he's been working on for a decade. I interpreted your comment as if you have a distaste for OSE. What system do you think would work better for this game?
Dolmenwood uses its own OSE-based rule system. It's self-contained and doesn't require any OSE rulebooks. Translating it to another system should be trivial.
Goblinoid Games is leaving a ton of money on the table by ignoring the wave of new B/X gamers that OSE is bringing to the market. Their web site hasn't seen any updates since 2019. Though many of their books are available as POD from both Lulu and DriveThruRPG, I'd love to see some quality...
It tooks months for the TOR2 Kickstarter to get completely shipped. The general release is probably going to follow the same pattern. The misprinted dice snafu isn't going to help the timeline.
