How is "multiattack" not usable with the Grapple mechanics?
Multiattack are by the very definition the ability "to make multiple attacks." I'm confused as to why you rule it this way.
No. The only way the grapple ends is if the grappled party successfully escapes (an action), casts a spell that breaks contact between the two figures, forces the grappler to be incappacitated, or in some other way is able to get out of the control of the grappler (shove as an example.) It...
I felt they were clear, but I have the player emailing me i'm still wrong. So You know, whatever. I was just trying to see if I was going crazy or not.
I want to make clear, I want to agree that if the grappling player forgoes future attacks, then escaping a grapple MUST be a full round action. Escaping the grapple as a "Attack action" would make grappling horrendous. I just don't see that anywhere. In my mind, I see grapple as sacrificing...
The grappling player can do anything they want. They can attack, drag the character around the territory, etc. Not sure what restriction you see being played out as with regard to the grappling player. As long as the grappled party fails their grapple check, they are grappled. And even...
IF that is true, then it is goofy as hell. It is essentially an insta-kill ability. If that doesn't raise the Challenge Rating, then Challenge Ratings are badly designed.
I'm confused. Allow what exactly? You would allow the player to only cast the spell on the foot and thus not provoke the gaze attack?
If this is your stance, what effects does that do to the creature's CR level then? I can't help but think this opens the gate for fighters to say "I look at...
I'm confused about this as it makes no f-ing sense. Why is it that Grappling a character can take one of the multiple "Attack actions," but breaking said grapple takes "its action" to escape. It seems that a non-grappler pc/npc grappler has equal ability to both grapple and break a grapple in...

Ok. I have a question about the interaction. I believe I know the interaction, but a player in my campaign was quite emphatic as to how "wrong" I was. The mage player argued that he didn't have to look at the Medusa's eyes to cast the...
