    Eric Noah's 3rd Edition Website

3E was exciting. I remember first learning about it on Eric's site and dove back into D&D in a big way. So many great discussions and meeting people at GenCon in 2000. It rekindled my love for the game.

    Monte Cook On Fumble Mechanics

I get what Monte is saying. They aren't always fun for players or DMs, and they aren't always as fun as we remember them in hindsight. Critical fumbles can be great fun and everyone has a story about how Joe the Barbarian accidentally cut off the head of Bob the cleric, or how Sheila shot Paul...

    TITANSGRAVE Season 2 Announced

Wil Wheaton isn't married to the system, that's true. During the seminar someone asking a question sort of denounced "systems with too many rules" and Wil mentioned that he loved D&D and other systems with lots of rules too. His opinion was that every system has its purpose, and also said that...

    TITANSGRAVE Season 2 Announced

And yeah, there's no way they will go to a different system. Titansgrave will be Fantasy AGE. They didn't explicitly say that, but it was heavily implied because of the expressed love of the system. Ran a game of it myself a couple of nights ago, and I can see why. It's fast, it's great for...

    TITANSGRAVE Season 2 Announced

Also he said Tabletop will get a season 4. I was in the audience. I'll paraphrase "Legendary said they wanted us to do a Tabletop series 4. I wanted to do a second season of Titansgrave. So we came to an agreement; we're going to do season 4 of Tabletop. <applause> <pause> And we're going...

TITANSGRAVE Episode 2 - Evil Awakens

One thing about watching a web show is that we get to see how other people run games at their table. The format of the show truncates the experience for time, so it's not the same as watching in on an entire session, but it's a practical way to get a peek at what people do differently. My wife...

GF9 is updating the D&D 5E SPELL CARDS

Caveat Emptor. I read the day one reviews, and held off buying. If more people did that, maybe they'd get it right on the first print run. Not apologizing for them though or praising them, but I put in my 2 coppers because I guess my feeling was that the thread was slamming them for good...

GF9 is updating the D&D 5E SPELL CARDS

Despite the above (valid) criticisms, I think it's great they listened to complaints and fixed those issues in the newer print run.

    D&D 5E Riddle Me This

I've found that they can be fun as long as they don't bog down the game. Have to use them in a way that doesn't prevent them from progressing and that doesn't keep them sidetracked too long, since some players enjoy them and some don't.

    D&D 5E Why should I allow Multiclassing ?

Some would question whether it makes sense that a character who levels up in their existing class can suddenly do new things like cast spells. The best answer is indeed downtime especially for classes that "study" to develop their abilities like wizards. But it could make sense that they pick...

    D&D 5E A noteworty gripe for 5e

Good to know. Now I guess I just need to figure out what stuff in the core books are his. I do like his website. Good stuff.

    D&D 5E A noteworty gripe for 5e

Now that you point this out, it annoys me too. I do love how they handled the art for the licensed adventures, you can buy the art directly from the artist. Wouldn't that have been nice for the core books?

D&D 5E Dungeons and Dragons: The "Dungeon Master's" edition.

I don't believe it was promised either, but I do believe it was stated as a design goal, and that set some expectations. I'm too lazy to look for a link on their redesigned site (if that's even where I got that from) so if you don't believe me on that, it's ok. Suffice to say, I don't think we...

D&D 5E Dungeons and Dragons: The "Dungeon Master's" edition.

I was disappointed by the lack of modularity. There is very little of it. However, when I look at the book from the viewpoint of "What would I change given the restriction of the current page count?" I don't have a good answer. As I look at every section, I think "yep, I need or really want...

    D&D 5E Dungeonscape no more?

Holy crap. Umbran made a mistake. So you are human after all. ;)
