Warforged Component with repair related ability?

I recall either a collar or docent that granted fast healing. It was an artifact-level item, though. I think it was in Secrets of Xen'drik.

    Undead Advancement for evil cleric?

You might be thinking of the Spellstitched template from Complete Arcane. It gives weak spell resistance, some okay damage reduction, and a bunch of spell-like abilities based on wisdom. It also costs a fair bit of experience. You might also check out the Evolved Undead template from Libris...

    UA BAB/save variant

Good saving throws increase 1/2 each level, and bad get 1/3 each level. A character with any levels that grant a good save also gets a +2 bonus. As I recall, the UA rules repeatedly apply that +2 bonus and make multiclassing between several classes with the same saves a bit powerful. If you...

    Half fiend Dread Necromancer

Libris Mortis has a Lichfiend variant Lich for evil outsiders. I think the only difference is a change in damage reduction types, probably so it involves silver or cold iron.

To be or Not to be (undead), that is the question.

The closest thing I know to a basic Undead template is the Necropolitan from Libris Mortis, which basically gives you the undead type and a bit of resistance to usual undead control methods. I have played two of them briefly. Mechanically the Undead type is more advantageous to some characters...

Sell a bard's soul for rock and roll

Thanks for the ideas, everyone. I'm going to meet up with him tonight and look through Tome of Magic for vestiges that could look a little devilish. We're open to flavour changes. In fact, my anima mage in the campaign uses Xoriat-based binding. Knight of the Sacred Seal looks promising. I'll...

Sell a bard's soul for rock and roll

Sadly no. I'm not even sure he carries a melee weapon.

Sell a bard's soul for rock and roll

In a campaign I'm in, our (evil) party has taken a turn for the worse. Now the wizard is undead and the corrupt cop is spellwarped, and the fighter/bard wants to get in on the action. The player has suggested some vile bargain with extradimensional entities. The character has a Wisdom of 6, so...

    Alternative Paladin

A slight derail: Do you think it would it be reasonable to have a similar feat that applies to blackguard spells?

    Reloading crossbows

The new hand crossbow feats from Drow of the Underdark make using them much more attractive. A character with two feats can fire in melee without provoking an attack of opportunity and reload as a free action. I want two things more to make a dapper swashbuckler with a rapier in one hand and a...

    Rogue / Cleric combos

A modified Divine Prankster from Races of Stone could be good. By default they are Gnome only, so that prerequisite would have to be changed. It's more of a bard/cleric multiclass, but is good at social skills. I am away from my books right now, but as I recall they can somehow avoid AoO from...

    Drow of the Underdark

I really liked the two feats that make hand crossbows more effective. Now you can use two feats to have a rapier in one hand and a hand crossbow in the other, fire in melee without inviting AoO, and reload as a free action. I don't think it gets around AoO from reloading, but it's still very...

    Incantatrix vs. Anima Mage

I now agree with you about Soul Binding treating you as if advancing as a binder. That will teach me to post without my books. I also use Persistent Spell, but find my choices a bit restricted. Persistable spells that are useful are pretty easy to find, but ones that are difficult to notice are...

    Going without sleep

I had a similar idea. I don't remember the name but there was a spell from in (I think) Lost Empires of Faerun that would remove fatigue. So in theory a first level cleric could avoid feeling tired from staying awake for days. Some mental effects might still exist, though.

    Incantatrix vs. Anima Mage

I also play an anima mage, and I agree with lukelightning that they are a blast. I also think that the Bind Vestige/Improved Binding trick doesn't interact well with the Soul Binding +X class feature of the anima mage. In fact, Soul Binding +X does so little for you that the Incantatrix is a...
