What I Like About Nimble 2e (So Far) — A Partial Review

That's good to know. I did read through the free quickstart rules, and it looks like this could be converted to theater of the mind.

What I Like About Nimble 2e (So Far) — A Partial Review

I like what I've seen about the game. But I've also seen that the game is fairly tactical. 4e theater of the mind was difficult; I just want to make sure I won't run into the same issue before I drop money on a new system.

What I Like About Nimble 2e (So Far) — A Partial Review

Can Nimble be played as theater of the mind? Or is a grid really needed?

D&D General Besides Nimble, are there other stripped down versions of 5e...

For those of you who have played Nimble, how does it play as theater of the mind? Or is playing on a grid necessary?

RPG Evolution: Philmont Adventures - Day 1

I was last in Philmont in 1986 as a "Lobo scout"—not quite old enough to be a Cub Scout. I vaguely remember getting lost amidst all the white canvas tents. Don't recall much else from that trip, though I do think we stopped by the Grand Coulee Dam on the drive home.

RPG Print News – Cairn, Monty Python RPG, and More

Is this a reboot of the Cairn rpg from about a decade ago that had major Kickstarter fulfillment issues? This one: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/131899/cairn-rpg

    Magazines White Dwarf Reflections #21

As a kid, I cut my teeth on Eddings, Feist, and Brooks (and Tolkien, of course). I've reread all three authors. Brooks feels very repetitious from book to book—once you've read one, you've read most. Eddings feels a little more juvenile, and I wasn't aware of the assault convictions until...

    D&D 5E (2014) Finally A Dog That Keeps Time

I wouldn't, ahem, jump to conclusions.

Worlds of Design: The Plight of the New RPG—Quality of Writing

Translation—now there's a tough business. I'm grateful I only work in one language (English). However, I work closely with a very large translation department. Most of my organization's materials end up in a minimum of 30 languages. Many are translated into over 100 languages (with more...

Worlds of Design: The Plight of the New RPG—Quality of Writing

As a professional editor who is married to a professional editor, I can say that the fundamental problem isn't how much editing costs or doesn't cost—it's the fact that no one other than an editor really understands what we do or that there's different types of editing. Most people think we just...

    D&D 5E (2014) Epic Monsters: Mari Lwyd

I was introduced to this thing over three decades ago via Susan Cooper's books. To this day, I still dream of visiting Wales. (Some day, you know, when there isn't a global pandemic...)

    D&D 5E (2014) EN5ider #418 - Tip of the Tongue: Part One

Wow, Mike, it's been a while since I've thought about this module. Thanks for the good memories!

    Carrying Dice (With Help)

I just use a plastic tackle box (along these lines: https://www.amazon.com/Organizer-Container-Adjustable-Dividers-Accessories/dp/B07PW3Z5K6). I sort by die type, plus I have space for some other bits and bobs like dry-erase markers and such.

Would You Like Fries With That?

I made that recipe as well. The olive tapenade was incredible, and it'd go great on a lot of things other than the burger.
