Wow, thanks for all the consideration, perhaps, to avoid arguements i will simply hit the troll with my wand of grease first making him make a balance check and then with the wand of acid splash to get the sneak attack bonus.

if my rogue is in melee and is flanking a flankable say troll, and wants to use his wand of acid splash to do sneak attack damage to the troll, can he?

consedering the concept of level gaining at progress intervals,(instead of by encounter) i started both my groups at second level to try to help the survivability of the party. as it is, the darkmantles are still a beating.

don't take this the wrong way, but most every thing i have found in WWP d20 book (including scarred lands) has a badly determined CR. i hade one gm give me a hook wing for a familiar (cr like 1/4) that could easly take out the entire party.

i have played in 2 games with spiked chain wielders, who, while very versitile, were no match for a good barbarian in a fight. if you want to see something broken, look at the Goliath with mountain rage.

i'm with this guy, the paladin's mount being a summoned creature is the only thing i have found that i didn't like. the Ranger class rocks.

oops, i missed the fact that the second character is an Mind Flayer. that makes him like a CR 19 or 20. your GM has it in for you.

if he drops like 10 rogue levels off that Priest King, the encounter is much more tolerable at a very dificult 17 or 18.

the Priest-King is like CR 25 by himself. with everything else that puts you at around 26 or 27. your GM is one Crazy SOB who obviously either doesn't know what he is doing or doesn't want you to go that way.

I personally almost always use the Core books for my Charaters, there is just something i like about Iconic Characters. i allow any WotC publised product in my games though.
