I don't know. The articles aren't really any different than the ruminations Mearls has been posting for years, going back much farther than his employment at WotC. It's clearly something he enjoys doing.
I've been halving all HP and giving monsters a damage bonus equal to their level.
This results in crazy amounts of damage from the monsters, but the players still seem to manage it okay. No one has even gone to zero hit points recently, and combats still seem to take a while to resolve.
How about a Netflix-style miniature service? You order all the D&D miniatures you need for your upcoming sessions, and mail them back in when you're finished.
I liked what was there, but it seemed kind of incomplete. At the very least, some artwork of the additional types modrons would have been nice. Also, some detail about Mechanus and how it fits into the 4e cosmology.
I don't think you'll have trouble getting a room, it just might be a couple blocks farther away. It will still be well within walking distance- there are a lot of hotels in the area.
I just renewed for another year.
I never used the Character Builder anyway, and am looking forward to the online Monster Builder.
To me, it's worth it for just the the Compendium and Dungeon.
Subjecting potential subscribers to what's being reported in this thread would be an even worse marketing move. Maybe they're waiting until the initial bugs get worked out.
