DMG definitely, followed by my PHB. My MM is still in excellent shape for some reason despite my using it a fair bit. It's like it's blessed or something. :p

Our weekly sessions are about 3-4 hours long. PCs still level up about one every month, month and a half, I just give out a little more story based XP and try to make the fewer combats a little more intense.

In my group we just eliminated the possibility of rolling a 1. Fighters roll d6+4, Barbarians d6+6, Rogues, d4+2, etc... For spellcasters we just let them have the 4 points. That's enough of a penalty in my book. :p

I'll take a shot: Any chance in in reference to Don McLean? (ok pretty obvious I know) Henry, beautiful description of spiders there. I used to be pretty allright with them but that definitely moved them up the in the ranking quite a bit. For me, I'd say knowing there's no hope. Got this...
