It's great to read about how you guys handle this long and confusing process. As of right now, I take things as they come to me. I've made short outlines for each PC outlining adventures that will focus on them, and have made a similar outline and background for my main villain.

Hello fellow DMs. Still being new to Dungeons and Dragons as a whole, I was wondering how my fellow DMs prepare for their weekly gaming sessions. I'm just starting to prepare my second session and was just wondering what kinds of things DMs make sure to account for, and how much time you put...
Everyone had a a blast learning combat together. The PCs didn't know each other at the beginning of the campaign, so they statrted on totally opposite sides of the map. It was awesome to see them help each other (the two eladrin teamed up as did the 2 dragonborn).
After that it took awhile for...

Well my friends and I made our first major foray into the realm of gaming stores today. We all managed to come home with something. Here's the list:
-5 miniatures (one for each PC)
-6 standard sets of dice
-The "official" D&D dungeon master's screen (print date 2009)
-A 24 X30 Gamemastery...
Once again, thanks again for all of the advice.
Just out of curiosity, are there any other additional books besides DMG2 I should pick up?
What about miniatures? Are they expensive 0_o?

I have taken on the task of being the DM even though I've never played a game of D&D in my life. I...
