D&D Beyond Launches on August 15th for $3-6/m

I'm interested, but I won't buy in until I see several reviews. WotC's previous efforts in this arena have been epic fails.

What's Next For D&D? Live From Origins - D&D Beyond

It is flat out ridiculous that WoTC hasn't integrated digital tools with new rule sets from the ground up. There are too many historical failures in this area to even begin to address. I won't buy into DnD Beyond until is six months old and well reviewed.

    Beyond the Digital Curse

For $180/year---it better be a near perfect interface with access to all 5e current and future data. Sent from my iPhone using EN World mobile app

    Beyond the Digital Curse

And... maybe this was answered elsewhere, how will this affect WotC's deal with Battlegrounds? Will they try to build in some interoperability? Sent from my iPhone using EN World mobile app

    Beyond the Digital Curse

You missed quite a bit. There were attempts going back to 2e to have digital tools for D&D, but each attempt has ultimately failed. The 4e attempt might have lasted the longest---but I wouldn't consider it successful by any means. And again---I got burned so badly by the 3/3.5 fracus---that...

    Beyond the Digital Curse

I never went deep into 4e, and most of the reason was from the deeply flawed digital tools implementation. They teased us terribly with the VTT, which was never produced. They promised us a fully integrated tool from the get-go---never happened. The initial reviews noted a lot of bugs---and then...

    Beyond the Digital Curse

Possibly, but I got burned pretty badly by CMP and by extension, WotC. I bought virtually every (PCGen) 3/3.5 dataset CMP had to offer largely on the promise that these datasets would also be applicable for CMP's new digital aide---Role Playing Foundry (RPF). However, RPF was horrifically...

    Beyond the Digital Curse

I have suffered through many of Wotc's failed digital attempts---particularly with Code Monkey Publishing. I am not going to be an early adopter on this---but let's see what the reviews show after awhile.

D&D 5E Herolab with 5e SRD---worth it or too stripped down?

Does anyone have any experience with the full datasets from Fantasy Grounds? Would it be worth switching over to that digital aide?

D&D 5E Herolab with 5e SRD---worth it or too stripped down?

You would have me make do with... (gasp!) pen and paper(!) What do you think I am? A Barbarian?!? Oh, hey. That gives me an idea for a PC... Seriously---thanks and... Dang.

D&D 5E Herolab with 5e SRD---worth it or too stripped down?

Hey Everyone, Getting dragged away from Pathfinder into 5e. I have been using Herolab for character creation, and have generally enjoyed it. As I stick my pinky toe into 5e, I am worried that the SRD dataset that WoTC has allowed Herolab to use will be too limited for good character...

[UPDATED] WotC To Close Forums - Including D&D and M:tG (aka "Welcome New Forum Members to EN World!

Idiots. They are truly succeeding at alienating deep-pocket, older players from Gen-X, and Y. It seems like they are actively trying to sink the company when this decision is combined with their continued failure to implement a good, comprehensive digital game aid.

[UPDATED] RAGE OF DEMONS! New D&D Storyline Features Drizzt, Underdark, & Demon Lords!

Here is where a well-implemented digital aide (Char-Gen, Combat Tracker, Maps, Campaign Tracker, etc) could really bridge the gap between dice, console and pc-gaming. I really hope WoTC and Hasbro gets it together one of these days (editions).
