    D&D 5E Zard's Post Tasha's Archetype Tier List

Just some artillerist notes since I've been playing one: The area temp hp is bonkers strong at T1/T2 and can straight up trivialize most of them. The turret is harder to kill than most people think. It has 18ac, benefits from the temp hp it gives, is considered a magical object (which means...

Twilight Sanctuary is definitely super strong also, although it does last only a minute and is limited by Channel Divinity uses. Protector turret can you help in out of combat situations also. 👍

D&D 5E Does the Artificer Suck?

Artillerist is S-Tier from 3-7. 1d8+Int temporary HP to all allies within 10ft for a bonus action an unlimited number of times is bonkers strong and trivializes most encounters.

Upcast Tiny Servant to get 3 of them (and then have them throw magic stones every turn for a cool possible 3d6+15 damage 😀) You should have a wind instrument proficiency for using Pipes of Haunting. You’re basically the robot pied piper. 👍

Alternatively, you can choose the magic item from among the common magic items in the game, not including potions or scrolls.

Giving your whole party Find Familiar over a few days at lvl 2 via Replicate Magic Item: Spellwrought Tattoo is also pretty cool. Also doing stuff like letting the martial concentrate on Bless.

I think the omission of the word “different” in the description makes it clear that their intent was for you to be able to take it multiple times for the same item, but 1 Pipe of Haunting at level 6 is super strong either way 😀

D&D 5E Does the Artificer Suck?

You’d take Replicate Magic Item: Pipes of Haunting as a known infusion 3 times, then you would just need 3 flutes or whatever since you’re making 3 separate Pipes of Haunting.

“Replicate Magic Item Using this infusion, you replicate a particular magic item. You can learn this infusion multiple times; each time you do so, choose a magic item that you can make with it, picking from the Replicable Items tables below.” You’d have to have 3 of your infusions known be...

D&D 5E Does the Artificer Suck?

I forgot you get Pipes of Haunting at 6. There’s definitely some adventures where using all 3 of your infusions on Pipes of Haunting is insanely strong and provides top-tier support. 9 casts of Fear (better version actually since it affects everyone within range that you see) at level 6 out...

D&D 5E Does the Artificer Suck?

I like artificers a lot, and I do think they can contribute a lot. I'm playing one on a westmarch and the ability to seamlessly transition from tank / support / ranged attacker between missions based on the party makeup is super useful. I also think that a small battlesmith that uses the steel...

D&D 5E Does the Artificer Suck?

Having 2 builds pvp each other is not a great way to decide which one is more useful to a party. It's hard for a 6 battlesmith to provide something as useful as a +3/4 to all saves aura. My current fun Armorer idea is to make a Minotaur STRArmorer that combos the guardian thunder guantlets...

D&D 5E Does the Artificer Suck?

Artillerists giving 1d8+Int Temp HP in an aoe every bonus action trivializes much of Tier 1 and 2 combat. Also note that Battle Smiths are one of the few classes that can use Elven Accuracy with Great Weapon Master.

D&D 5E Am I missing something with Favored Foe?

It talks about marking enemies so that it interacts with the ranger capstone. Do note that Favored Foe also works with spells. It's strictly better than Favored Enemy.
