I think roleplaying does really add to the game, it's just that for me I'd rather keep the roleplaying down on average to about 50% of the game time. Obviously more roleplaying is required in a town and less in questing in say a dungeon. But I do rather like combat encounters.
I ended up...
on how I view myself, if I had to create a character in the dungeons and Dragons world that represented myself I would assign him the following stats: --
strength: 11
dexterity: 8
Constitution: 11
Wisdom: 17
intelligence: 14
charisma: 11
comeliness: 9
So a divine class or a wizard would be...
1) Power gaming vs roleplaying
2) should we buy players handbook 2
3) how frequent and easily available should magic items be for the players characters
4) what to do when a character dies
5) 3.5 vs 3.0 vs 2nd edition vs AD&D vs Basic
6) character creation dice rolling methods...
we have had several characters die, each time you can see that the player is downhearted, personally it does not affect my enjoyment of the game if a character dies.
we had a discussion on alternatives for character death which were little less harsh on the penalties for raising dead...
