Help me build a wrestling/grappling specialist.

I'm not sure if you're aware but there's a great site where you can easily skim through (almost) all of PF material. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ Taken from the feat tree section these are the feats you can look up: Ki Throw Binding Throw (just what you're looking for, let's you grapple after...

    Pathfinder 1E Blood and sand

Thanks for the great advice. I'll be sure to check out Complete Gladiator's Handbook...

    Pathfinder 1E Blood and sand

I'm preparing for a whole-weekend long Pathfinder getaway, and I want to pit my players in a series of arena combats. The combats will be mass scale at first, with hundreds of participants in the first bout, and progress to one-on-one combat at the end. However I'm pressed for time and ideas...

    D&D 5E Starter Set: Excerpt 6

If spells really emulate racial abilities I don't like that either :) Spells and items should make you better at something (as in give a bonus to your existing ability or skill). The Gauntlets of Ogre power simply make your strength score irrelevant. :) I don't think it's going to work that way...

    D&D 5E Starter Set: Excerpt 6

Still, I don't think that either the half-orc strength or the (arguably) most important racial ability of the dwarf should be obtainable just by getting one magic item.

    D&D 5E Starter Set: Excerpt 6

I've skipped most of the later playtesting so pardon me if I'm barking up the wrong tree, but these items seem inherently wrong to me. This is the scenario I can see happening: Player 1: I play a half-orc barbarian, and through my race and class combination I have achieved a strength score of...

    Wizards and Armor

I don't want wizards to be able to cast in armor. I want wizards to be squishy, with low AC and low hitpoints. I know that there were many ways for wizards to buff their AC in previous versions, but that was then, and I hope that 5e goes a different way. Also, I think the above should be...

    Some short playtest notes

There's always the risk of that. Our DM was pretty frustrated with characters going from death's door to combat ready all the time. He started considering "double tapping" as a monster tactic. :)

    Some short playtest notes

We used healing potions and spells. We had quite a few potions, thanks to the clerics herbalism feat. Mostly because there was a lot of darting back and forth, as ranged characters (and monsters) would go from the back to the front, fire of a missile/spell and go back. Some people in the group...

    Some short playtest notes

We finished the second session of our playtest and these were the impressions so far: Advantage and disadvantage were generally well received amongst players, with some wishing that advantages would stack. Move-attack-move mechanic got thumbs up from half of the group and thumbs down from the...

    6-5 Rule of Three

Dear God no. In a game which will apparently focus heavily on ability scores, getting +1 to every score as opposed to +1 to just one is a bit much. I hope they balance this out somehow, I don't want any more parties with all human PC-s.

    Playtesting right now- quick question

    Great, thanks guys!

    Playtesting right now- quick question

There's a disagreement in my group so I thought I'd ask the boards. Does the "Defender" ability of the cleric of Moradin use up his action on his next turn?

    Two Versions of Each Class

Well I think I'll restrict my reports to what works, what doesn't work and why I did or did not like an aspect. After that I'll let the professional game designers come up with a different solution and then test that. That is, if I get the chance to confer all of my impressions. I doubt that...

    Two Versions of Each Class

I really hope WOTC add a checkbox to their playtest surveys saying "I have modified the presented rules and/or added my own house rules". That way they can trash those reports and avoid them corrupting the useful feedback.
