I mean, I get why you'd want the multiple simultaneous storylines, as it gives it more of a living campaign feel, but I think, overall, the living campaign has given way to flexible, regional groupings of players.

There's a lot of con organization chatter revolving around that very scenario.

yep, which is great for established players with tons of tier 3 characters running around, but pretty crummy for newer players.

Exactly, I love the flavor of the rule, but not the implementation, even the mechanic itself is very clunky and un-5e like.

I like the rule, with some tweaking, but I think its going to piss off a ton of people, particularly AL groups playing the hardcovers from previous seasons when it goes into effect.
