So, you cannot attack with your mount if you charge with a lance then?

Okay, this may be a silly question, but I'm not sure our group has been doing this correctly... If I'm mounted with a lance and I charge (or just attack), where do I stop my character - adjacent to the target or 10' away? We've always placed our character 5' away (as if we impaled the target...

I also think they addressed the spontaneous conversion as well - not in the feat description but in the Reserve Feat description at the beginning. At least, I understood it to mean it was okay. Again, I don't have the book in front of me though.

Actually, there is wording in the book that says you CAN use a single spell to trigger two reserve feats. I just got the book and briefly skimmed it, so I don't have the exact words, but I do remember it addressing this.

Now that all creatures get feats based on HD, it occurred to me that my paladin mount may need armor proficiency to avoid getting an attack penalty wearing barding. Does anyone know if this is so? thanks.

Is it possible to cast a spell while prone? If a spellcaster is tripped and will incur an attack of opportunity from standing or crawling away, will he be able to cast defensively while prone? If so, would there be any penalties? I don't see anything in the PHB regarding this. Thanks
