    [March] What are you reading?

Thanks, Nellisir, now I genuinely want to read the Hundred Thousand Kingdoms books. It sounds like the author definitely gets where I'm coming from. :) I appreciate your taking the time to give an answer!

    [March] What are you reading?

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms sounds like pretty typical high fantasy from what I've read about it. What makes in unique and worth reading, in your opinion?

    [March] What are you reading?

Morrus, you are correct. I was referring to Western European mythology. I'm actually not a big fan of Westerns (wild west), as genre. Just to clarify, I'm a woman, so I'd prefer you use the pronoun 'she' if you are referring to me. I love sci-fi as well, so if anyone has read any really...

Pathfinder 1E Player Dilemma: How to bow out of a campaign you don't like.

So I've been playing in a Pathfinder campaign at a local gaming store for a month now, with a new GM. He's nice enough, but he isn't usually very well prepared and he tends to railroad us into whatever the mod says we should be doing. I don't have anything against him personally, but I'm used to...

    [March] What are you reading?

Can anyone recommend a fantasy series that is less western-mythology based? I've kind of had my fill of knights in shining armor. Any series that take place in a more middle-east type world, or India-like? Nagas and djinn?

    [March] What are you reading?

Just finished the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger. It's a steampunk alternate reality Victorian novel with gay vampires and civilized werewolves. It was very entertaining, with a nice balance of mystery and adventure and just a smattering of romance.

    Fate of the Norns Review

This sounds rather intimidating, but fun. When you first started playing, did it take long for you to get into the game? Is there anything similar to 'alignment' in D&D, or is it just based on which perspective you are playing from (eg Giants)? Can you play just a one-session version and get the...

D&D 5E Things through all the playtests I have not liked

In terms of sneaking and perception checks, I think it's up to the GM. I think DC is useful in that it gives you a starting point, but the GM can give you a bonus if she thinks you deserve it, and the opposing NPC might have a bonus as well. Straight opposed roles are way too unpredictable, and...

Sagiro's Story Hour: The FINAL Adventures of Abernathy's Company (FINISHED 7/3/14)

Is there a pdf of this story hour? I just started reading and I'd like to get caught up, but it seems about the length of a novel at this point.
