Yeah, once they hit the Grand Line, it is island hopping with separate adventures and plots. You described some of them without even knowing it! There is a contiguous plot behind it all but each island is different stories.

Its been a minute since I've seen the original TV series, but would say its comparable. Has backstory on the Mutants and I love what they have done with Snarf, making him less whiny and more important. The comic is teen rated so not too dark.

I've played it in a few one-shots. Its been fun to play. We ran the first few encounters in the Kang Adventure. I really want to see an adventure specific to the X-Men and mutants. Kang is neat, but my favorite from Marvel is the X-Men.
