I really enjoy these trips down memory lane. This is the era when I was buying these off the shelf at B.Dalton's or Waldenbooks as a kid. I remember being fascinated by the incantatrix when this came out.

That familiar article was definitely foundational for me and I had that cardboard castle in my room as a kid for a long time!

This particular Dragon magazine was foundational for me in my D&D journey. I bought it off the shelf as a twelve-year-old and used the familiar article to make a familiar for my brand-new wizard character, Chagroth Durinhelm. That character ended up being the ur-wizard of my homebrew setting...

I remember the good old days when the previews for 3E were being released periodically and how mind-blowingly transformative the switch from 2E to 3E was. And when Gary Gygax (RIP) would, comment in the forums here! Really magical times. Congratulations on taking it forward another 20 years!

No necromancers, no enchanters, no transmuters, no abjurers, no summoners, no diviners. I can't convert the magic university that was the focal point of my campaign world. I can cobble together a semblance of it from the blaster and controller wizard builds with a dash of warlock stuff...

I was contemplating doing something similar to this, but chickened out. This is awesome. Thanks for all the time and effort you've obviously put into this.
