Ya, the NPC's and monsters are a lot more complex that I had thought too. I was smart and met with all my players this week and made sure their characters were up to code. That'll take alot of time off the first game. :) Now I just have to write everything up for the campaign by Friday...

You could also use the SpellScale race from the book "Races of the Dragon". +2 cha -2 con, with low light vision and blood quickening meditations daily that give an extra spell or skill. Awsome race. Pretty much born and breed mage.
