    D&D (2024) Ranged Builds Thread

Take sorcerer levels 1-4 first. At sorcerer 4 take Eldritch Adept - Pact of the Tome with EB as one of the cantrips. EB will then count as a sorcerer spell and work with Innate Sorcery. It’s admittedly clunky.

D&D General Would You Play High Level (12-15);Wiith Pre Generated Characters? Mostly 5.0/5.5 but theoretically any edition.

I’d pitch my pre-generated rulings to the DM, which would be that the pre-gens are fake news and that a band of female elves who are totally into my non-pre-generated character come to his aid when needed, with “as needed” defined by my character.

D&D (2024) Creative uses of Thaumaturgy, Druidcraft and Elementalism?

This old thread: Is there anything stopping you from creating food and water with Prestidigitation? gets into creating food and water with Presty. For 5.5, I think one could make the RAW argument that Druidcraft could let you do something similar except the stuff created with Druidcraft could...

D&D (2024) Creative uses of Thaumaturgy, Druidcraft and Elementalism?

Does the sensory effect of Druidcraft last forever, short of a weird use of Wish? It’s instantaneous, so it can’t be dispelled and the caster can’t dismiss it. The food and water from Create Food and Water sticks around, but at least you can move it. The spectral dancing fairies would persist in...

    Elementalism to protect demiplanes.

D&D General To multiclass or not to multiclass

My sorcerer needs an 18 CON (or 14 CON plus Tough) to have at least 151 hit points by level 20 to not be susceptible to Power Word Stun. I also want him to have Musician, Lucky, Resilient, Mage Slayer (all four mostly for a buff to mental saves), and some sort of permanent telepathy, e.g...

D&D General To multiclass or not to multiclass

Thanks Indagare for this thread as it made me reconsider my single class build. So I’m trading out a 5th, 6th, and 7th level slot, 3 prepared spells, an 18th level subclass ability, an epic boon feat, and a capstone for a much slower progression and a three level dip that raises my primary...

D&D General Muscular Neutrality (thought experiment)

One can be a slave and be good, but one shouldn’t have to be a slave to be good.

D&D General Muscular Neutrality (thought experiment)

No, I chose to be subservient to a dominating influence. I was not the originator nor a proponent of Moronville’s alignment definitions.

D&D General Muscular Neutrality (thought experiment)

Per Google search: Slavery is “the state of being a slave.” Per MW, a slave is “someone or something that is completely subservient to a dominating person or influence.” I can choose to be subservient. I can then choose not to be. If a society thinks the most highly of slaves, one might enter...

D&D General Muscular Neutrality (thought experiment)

I interpreted the OP as asking why MN might take out good people. Sort of a brainstorming session. I gave my two cents. Infinity people challenged what I said. I’m fine with that. I never said I’m right and others are wrong, though I think what I said is plausible, I.e. there is a possibility...

D&D General Muscular Neutrality (thought experiment)

The MN won’t be taking me out, though they may remove my shackles on the way to killing the good. If I have to be altruistic to be good, and I desire a reputation as a good neighbor, I have to enter into slavery. I agree no one is forcing me. I could instead choose freedom, but my reputation...

D&D General Muscular Neutrality (thought experiment)

It can be that. It can also be having to do something for someone else. Having to serve others is slavery, even if voluntary.

D&D General Muscular Neutrality (thought experiment)

Subservient to others. I have to be concerned about and try to help others. Having to serve others is a form of slavery as is being owned by people.

D&D General Muscular Neutrality (thought experiment)

To be altruistic is to be subservient. If I’m altruistic, I enter into voluntary slavery. If I believe being good requires one to be altruistic, I expect that good folks will also enter into slavery. Doesn’t sound like a call for freedom. I’m okay with an obligation to not impose a negative to...
