Consumptive Field's effect on Caster Levels for a multiclass character

Consumptive Field is a level 4 Divine Spell. It kills any nearby creature with negative hit points that fails a saving throw. For each creature killed, your caster level increases by 1, to a maximum bonus of half your caster level. So if a Cleric/Wizard casts Consumptive Field once, would the...

Is there a difference between Hathran Circle Magic and Red Wizard Circle Magic?

Not sure why there's a strange smilie in my thumbs up comment... I only tried to give reputation for an informative post. Yes, I agree with that.

If a spell is currently too high level to cast, can you still add it to spellbook?

Thanks to everyone who chimed in. I am now convinced that by RAW, it's alright for a Wizard to copy high level spells in advance to circumvent the Red Wizard additional banned schools. Well, Red Wizards are all about abusing others :D

If a spell is currently too high level to cast, can you still add it to spellbook?

In general this is correct. However, for the Red Wizard who adds additional prohibited schools later in his career, he can still cast those spells he learned earlier, before joining the Red Wizard prestige class. Here's a brief quote from the 3.5 Dungeon Master Guide: For example, let's say the...

Clerics of same faith killing each other?

The Faerun God of War Tempus is Chaotic Neutral. During a war, both sides often have Tempus worshipping Clerics fighting each other. Even if they kill each other, as long as they uphold Tempus' teaching, the deceased Clerics are viewed favorably by their God. EDIT: It all depends on what...

If a spell is currently too high level to cast, can you still add it to spellbook?

If a wizard has a high spellcraft skill, and can succeed at a spellcraft check of 24 (15 + spell level of 9). Can he add a level 9 spell even if his current Wizard level does not allow him to cast such a powerful spell? It would be useful for someone who aspires to be a Red Wizard. Upon...

Is there a difference between Hathran Circle Magic and Red Wizard Circle Magic?

On Page 59 of Forgotten Realms Campaign Settings the book seems to lump both types of Circle Magic together. The only explicit difference is that a Red Wizard must be level 5 to lead a Circle, while a Hathran can do so at level 4. Here's a quick recap of how Circle of Magic works: -A leader...

Death, should i let it be final

Your character seems like a selfless hero that endured a lot of suffering to help others. He may think that the world would be better off with him dead, but does the rest of the world agree with that? Are his companions filled with nostalgia when they reminisce about the memorable moments they...

    Alignment

Poor troll, this is ridiculous. If my character was in the party he would confront his comrades and even accuse the paladin of being a phony. I think the Paladin and the Cleric all need an atonement spell to prove that they have sincerely repented before they can use their divine powers again...

Hierophant Spell-Like Ability: is the divine focus requirement still there?

here is a summary of how the hierophant's spell-like ability works: The text does not mention anything about the divine focus used for certain spells. If a hierophant has Summon Monster VII as a spell-like ability (SLA), and let's say he is bound and gagged, and about to be executed, can he...

Need help calculating Ur-Priest Caster Level

If a character is a Wizard 3/Ur-Priest 2/Mystic Theurge 8/Red Wizard 7 What would his Ur-Priest Caster Level be? Would the following be accurate? Final Ur-Priest Caster Level = 2 (Base Ur-Priest Class Level) + 8 (Mystic Theurge bonus) + X where X = ( 1/2 * (sum of his levels in other...
