We do some of both. And we still have plenty of products that just come out in our normal production cycles and not through crowdfunding at all. There are still some projects we approach more like the olden days where it's "here's an idea and a first piece of it and hey do you want to help us...

Probably nothing other than maybe how robust of a product line you might expect from that publisher. Even that's not much, as smaller publishers can focus fire and produce a lot more product because their economies of scale are such that they don't need to hit the numbers that a bigger publisher...

Legendary Games started out doing Pathfinder stuff in 2011 but since 5E came out has always approached publishing from a multi-system perspective. We've done tons of 5E stuff but also added Starfinder, Pathfinder 2E, Tales of the Valiant (we even did one ToV-only Backerkit project last year)...

Definitely. We also adopted Morrus' idea of a "quick-starter" - crowdfunding as a fast-turnaround project rather than a monumental build-up with lots of stretch goals. We still do some of those now and then, but most of our crowdfunding is done with projects when they are 100% finished or right...

FWIW, for a couple of years during the pandemic Legendary Games was juuuuust short of that $500K annual "Evil Hat" tier. The last couple of years have been more like half that.

Kickstarter does actually have a box you have to check in setting up the "Story" of your campaign, which we did, though I'm not sure where that shows up from the customer-facing side.

Legendary Games has never used AI for anything and never will. I guess I just haven't developed the habit of saying so. I'll add a note to that effect to the Kickstarter page for Cloak and Dagger.
