Could someone please point me out an equippable magic item that improves Spot and Listen checks, as well as its source?

    Van Helsing

:) I just saw Van Helsing and I can tell you it was pretty sweet. The action and special effects were great, just as expected. The story and performances were pretty solid for an action movie, the directing was good but left some plot holes and misunderstandings for me (the moon phases are kind...

    Evil Corp, Inc.

Hmm...lot's of corporations I've never heard of. Aerotech...is that Star Wars? Oh, my companies come from: 1. Pentex (World of Darkness) 2. Weyland Yutani (Aliens) 3. Umbrella (Resident Evil)

    Evil Corp, Inc.

I'm trying to come up with a list of evil corporations/companies from TV, RPGs, Movies, etc. So far I only have three: 1. Pentex 2. Weyland Yutani 3. Umbrella Can you think of any?

UA: V/WP - what about this?

Huh? Haven't you noticed the fact that characters become immune to damage once they reach 0 WP? All damage that could take you below 0 WP automatically brings you to 0 WP. You just have to dealwith the Fort saves to see if you're disabled or dying. As written the rules seem not to allow an...

Daredevil vs. The Hulk: Which movie do you like better?

Both sucked, 'Hulk' sucked the least.

The Oscar Buzz Thread! (Oscar Nominees Announced!)

I can't believe '21 Grams' wasn't nominated for Editing. The editor from that movie did a superb work to make the movie understandable even though it wasn't linear at all. This reminds of the tiem 'Black Hawk Down' beat 'Memento' on that same category. That sucked.

    Cat Woman = Sharon Stone?

    AAAARRRGGGGHHHH! My eyes!!! The pain!

The Oscar Buzz Thread! (Oscar Nominees Announced!)

Johnny Depp & Open Range Wow Johnny Depp for Best Actor, I really wasn't expecting that. He was hilarious, and the role was like nothing he had ever done, but is it really worth a nomination? Hmm, 'Open Range' is nowhere to be seen and that's pity, because it's a great movie. I'm no Costner...

    LOTR Pump-action Crossbow

It's the smae thing as any other non-cross bow. You have to reach for the arrow on your quiver to "reload" it. I think it would allow for multiple attacks just like a long/short bow. But I agree some penalties should be added to balance it.

    WotC and D&D

Like Nightfall, I like donuts and Scarred Lands. But I'm also very happy with D&D 3.5.

    LOTR Pump-action Crossbow

Has anyone come up with any rules for the Pump-action Crossbow from the LOTR:TTT? The Uruk-hai use them on Helm's Deep. On the EE Appendix Discs they explain they actually come from real German designs from the 15th -or 14th, can't remember- century. The pump-action thingy allowed for a much...

The horror that will be known as "Alien Vs. Predator"

For me 'Event Horizon' was very good, 'Soldier' was tolerable and 'Mortal Kombat'... well it still hurts when I think about it. About the script, I don't think it looks bad, but it doesn't look great either. Its just so...standard. As a sidenote, for some reason it remind me 'Talos, The Mummy'.

    Half-Ogre from Dragon #313

As Vocenoctum already mentioned, the template specifically mentions that the template changes and size changes are independent. A LA +1 for all of that is just whacked.

    Half-Ogre from Dragon #313

I think the Level Adjustment is waaaay too kind for what this template offers. The only penalties it bestows are an INT -2 and a CHA -2. Then its STR +4, darkvision, natural armor, increased speed and -oh yeah, your size increases by one category, so if you were Medium, now you're Large with an...
