One of my favorite books of all time, hands down, is Quintessential Fighter. It is a 3rd edition Mongoose supplement, and thus always required GM approval, but as long as I held back and kept things balanced, he usually let me use it.

Whenever I think of characters like this, I always think of the Legend class, as per Quintessential Fighter.
