Wow! Thanks for your remarks, people!
Thanks for your input. For the first time I used pre-generated characters, and let them change a few things. The problem was that the pre-generated backgrounds for LMoP are not connected to each other, and this may have created the problem.
The player in...
I have DMed for more than 20 years, and this is the first time I have an evil character on the players' group (running lost mine of Phandelver - 5E).
The player is experienced, and his character is a female rogue. He often tries to take treasures they find for himself, has been asking how much...
Since they are new to the game, and will play Lost Mine of Phandelver, try to dial down the first encounters because they can be deadly to a LVL1 party. Reduce the goblins damage for example, so they can learn how to play without early character deaths.
Also, I suggest you use initiative...
You will not be able to run one part per session, unless your sessions are more than 8 hours long. Some parts take a while to develop.
I did not allow them to go up there. They climbed and realized that there was a flat and heavy stone blocking the passage.
My reasoning was that the boss...

Glasstaff says that he sent the boy somewhere and if he is killed they...
I should have explained it better. When the rogue arrives, the boy has disappeared for a month.
The Manor was under repairs when the rogue was a Redbrand member, so he knows little about it. But yes, second day in town, the rogue will be news to the Redbrands and something should happen.

Exactly my problem. Someone suggested to turn the duration to concentration 1 minute, but this would turn this cantrip into obligatory buff for every mage.
I am thinking about turning it to concentration, but you lose the spell as soon as you take any weapon damage (no CON check).
His nephew has an interesting dragon-shaped mark on his shoulder. Glasstaff wants to give him to the dragon as a gift. He knows that the rogue would never allow that, so boom: kill the rogue. That was the idea for my group, and a good tie-in with the thundertree part of the adventure.
Good:
Sleep?
1st-level Wizard can drop a 4th-level Wizard on the first round. No save. Just need to get the current hp of the opponent on the 5d8 check.
Or maybe finish a dragon that has 20hp left?
Bad:
Blade Ward - as discussed in another thread: lose an action to have resistance to...
