How much demand really is there for people to play Basic Fantasy RPG or Swords & Wizardry?
I'm looking for a fairly simple game to play (online as my schedule does not account for live play) but am having one heck of a time finding players.
Are most playing 4e, Pathfinder or 3.5?

When a character does a perception skill check, how long does the skill check last for?
For example, a PC does a perception to see if he notices anything in the room. Does the check go away when he leaves the room and enters the next or is there a time limit?
What it says for a weapon that I am proficient with it +3, what exactly that does mean and where do I add the +3 to my character sheet?
