I recently moved to FL and I'm currently looking for any groups that play 3.5 Forgotten Realms or Greyhawk that would be willing to add an experienced player. I'm located in Venice but am willing to travel as far as Sarasota to the north and Punta Gorda to the south.
Right on. I don't have the book to look at it so I wasn't sure how it was exactly spelled out. I don't see that it's unbalanced. Sure, at high levels it can seem powerful but so can all the epic feats.
I can't see how that is balanced. In some ways it seems ok such as throwing a fireball at half the caster's level and a magic missile at half the caster's level. But the feat could be easily exploited. I'm not the greatest metagamer out there but I could see where a conjurer could use that feat...
Took me awhile to locate my Tome and Blood. So I was wrong in one of my previous posts. Only the Duelist bonus is an unnamed bonus while the bladesinger is a dodge bonus.
Bladesong Style: When wielding a longsword in one hand (and nothing in the other), the Bladesinger gains a dodge bonus to AC equal to his Intelligence modifier.
That's the excerpt from the Tome and Blood.
The only thing I was considering is that FoM allows for normal movement in any terrain. It just seemed like a possibility that it may smooth out the ride some. Again, I'm ignorant to the effects of riding a horse.
A thought... what if the horse had Freedom of Movement cast on it? The bumpiness from the horse trotting across the terrain would be alleviated, I'm assuming. If that was the case, it might be possible. Then just use my idea for concentration checks?
My apologies. Now I'm on the same page. I'm still looking up to see if there's anything stating whether or not the defender would get his dex bonus in the middle of the attack. My guess would be that the defender would become flat-footed against the rogue due to the invisibility and therefore...
I've never ridden a horse so excuse my ignorance to the possibility. Being someone that has, do you think my ideas for skill checks would work? Would the DC's need to be increased? In this case, I'd hate to shoot down someone's creative idea to utilize his character's downtime.
The answer is yes. In this example, the defender is surprised by the attacking rogue. During the surprise round (and until the defender's turn in initiative order) the defender is flat-footed and is denied his dex bonus. The defender does not instantly regain his dex bonus until it is his turn...
From the SRD:
Sneak Attack: If a rogue can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage.
The rogue’s attack deals extra damage any time her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target...
Which is why I mentioned the idea of dropping the scroll or tossing it in the air. Granted, trying to read something as it's floating in the air might be EXTREMELY difficult... there's no rule that I've seen that says it can't be done.
