So a buddy of mine wants to make a christmas elf. I figured just take the normal elf stats but make his size "small" and a 25ft movement speed but he also wants to use special weapons. Such as extra strength wrapping paper and using the wrapping paper tube to wack people.
The tube is easy; just...
I know. I have two ways of fighting.
Either a ton of up close damage, or maximize ac and ranged damage.
If I go with ranged imma hold an actual shield and my total ac would be 27.

Thats one reason. But i edited my response with more details.
Also the fact that paladins have acess to a smaller shield spell that stacks with shield is tempting too. XD

I need a way to get as many first level spell slots as possible.
So far the best idea I have is using sorcerer points to convert higher lvl spells into spell points and then those points into 1st lvl spells. But thatll take a while in the middle of battle.
Any better ways?

So lets say I have a 6th lvl Shadow Monk and Im about to hit lvl 7. I wanna try something different but dont want to multiclass.

So for any other spell couldnt i just holster my weapon as a free action and then cast? Then next turn draw my weapon? Im only ever gonna get to cast one spell a turn and I wont be able to attack with a melee the same turn.

If I attempt to cast Booming Blade with a Great Axe do I have to have the Warcaster feat? Or since its versitile can I hold it in one hand, cast the spell with the other, then attack with both hands?
What about a Greatsword? Its specifically two handed.
I figured since the material component...
So in a homebrew campaign that I'm part of we came across a magic shop to where we could enchant weapons with either +1 or +2. The DM was going to allow me to use brass knuckles with my monk and still use unarmed strikes because I'm still punching. I know this is homebrew so anything goes but in...
