    D&D 2E Huh. AD&D 2e is my favorite D&D

I thought you were wrong so I checked and sure enough you are correct. This got me wondering if there were any new optional rules that were not included in the original 2E books or if i just recalled it wrong. Since I also now have the PDF of the "Premium" 2e revised edition from Drivethru I was...

    D&D 2E Huh. AD&D 2e is my favorite D&D

I would say so. A little over a year ago I read through both. I am sure I am missing some differences, but for the most part AD&D 2E revised is just 2E. There are like 20~30% more pages in the Revised books though. I recall finding that in 2E Revised some of the wording that explained certain...

    D&D 2E Jakandor

I've got all 3 of the Jakandor books from a co-worker earlier this year but I havent had a chance to give them much more than a cursory glance. As someone running a few 2e groups(with additional 1e content), I can somewhat agree that 2e can quickly become bloated if you try to bring in every...

D&D 1E Seriously contemplating an attempt at a retro AD&D

That reminds me why I made my own notes on how mechanics and character generation works in 2E. Across both (original and revised) they put important details about things scattered around in a non-intuitive way! Like movement and how throwing grenade like projectiles work; everything is not in...

    D&D 2E Definitive Darksun

I was recently going through the "Forbidden Lore" Boxed set for Ravenloft from 1992 and made a fascinating discovery. In the 32pg booklet called "Dark Recesses" They dedicate about 10 pages Darksun crossovers into Ravenloft. The basic jist is that it will be difficult to evoke horror in Darksun...

    Are our tastes set?

I would say my tastes are set for the current offerings based on my personal experiences; That being a taste for 2E. The sheer volumes of content and lore is wonderful and nearly everything from 1e can be used as well with minor tweaking. The rules themselves are quirky but seem to make more...

    D&D 2E On AD&D 2E

I think everyone reasonable can agree that every game system has its pros and cons. You will find die hard fans and haters of every edition of D&D(basic and advanced versions included). There is no perfect version or game system period Outside of core game systems themselves you also should...

    D&D 2E On AD&D 2E

I've mostly been running 2e exclusively this year as I have kind of amassed a large collection of content (originals, reprints, hand printed/bindered material). With my main group I had two people new to D&D entirely, one AD&D 1e veteran, and two 5e veterans. First sessions were painfully slow...

    D&D 2E Definitive Darksun

Hopefully this is not too off topic; I am looking to bring my 2e group into the Darksun campaign setting in a month or so, probably using original adventures(DS/DSQ/DSM/DSE) and tweaking them as needed. I vaguely remember having a some of my best AD&D experiences with the aforementioned...

D&D 2E A bunch of 2e PDFs seem to have bumped up in price

This is the type of activity that encourages Sailing the Seven Seas. I thought they were above this bush league behavior. People should be quite wary of their purchases.

D&D 1E Seriously contemplating an attempt at a retro AD&D

I would agree whole heartily with this sentiment. I unfortunately didn't get to start playing (A)D&D till late 2000 when 2e books became extremely cheap since 3e had launched. I have played a fair amount of AD&D 2e, 3.x, and a bit of 4e, 5e. During the COVID Lockdowns I also participated in a...

D&D 2E A bunch of 2e PDFs seem to have bumped up in price

Maybe the higher cost is required for some legal reason? I don't know for sure obviously, but I speculate that maybe the IP for some books is joint held by WoTC and the writers. If this is the case perhaps the writers want more money per copy sold? I've noticed that Dragonlance books seem to be...

D&D 2E A bunch of 2e PDFs seem to have bumped up in price

If the PDFs were all good quality, I wouldnt mind paying more and I'd argue WoTC would be justified in charging more, especially if they updated digital books with better PDF copies. However, I have a suspicion this is not the case. It's also sad that some of the PDFs on offer are pretty horrible.

D&D 2E A bunch of 2e PDFs seem to have bumped up in price

In relation to OP: Yea I have noticed a bunch of AD&D 1e/2e PDFs that seem to have gone up in price. Maybe it was sales but around DEC when I bought a bunch, most were $5~$10. Now that I am brushing up a bit on the missing ones I am noticing that there are a lot more in the $10~$15 range...
