That is quintessentially what a Templar is, a n enforcer of his/her patron, a sorcerer/dragon king.
Funny you should mention Judge Dredd, @doctorbadwolf, yet that is my approach to the Templar - an enforcer of their patrons law. At first not sure why WoTC went with Warlock, yet that fits better...
My take..
Having only known AD&D 2e version of the product, having some concerns in how "if" there is going to be a 2024e iteration how will they approach some of the core themes from 2e > 4e >2024e.
Slavery being a hot topic which back in 2e if using the packed adventure module clipboard the...
Having played Dark Sun way back in the 90s, I don't think it the setting could be summed up as woke.
Within its first 12 months since inception Tyr wa a free city-state fighting off a rival dragon king, while a Preserver ascended to Avangeion (not sure i spelt that correctly).
By the time...
Yup, all filmed in Quarries during the 70s and early 80s, and Blake 7 recycled the same settings, lol.
I think I briefly tuned out as an 8 or 9 year old when the silly green maggots and the little gurgly voiced shrimp alien started cropping up. I don't recall seeing the episode where the Daleks...
If that is so then that would be a great improvement. Personally, seeing as Spelljammer was an update of the old AD&D2e I was expecting some form of ship to ship combat system (which was curiously absent from the Ghosts of Saltmarsh book also). Similarly the Planescape slipcase was not all thatt...
@overgeeked
Taking your quote in account, bought the HB PoD with the pdf.seeing as I already got quite a few supplements already (the Will and the Way, Dragon King's for the psionicist), will be using with either OCR/Adventures Dark and Deep/or Shadowdark.
I have Shadowsun for Shadowdark, yet...
Well, as an example I recall on of the first scenario packs the PCs were all Slaves forced to build a ziggurat in Tyr for the tyrant sorcerer-king who was seeking to speed up his transformation.
...
He wasn't, successful and paid the ultimate price in the climax, with all the templates of Tyr...
Am now seriously looking at the PoD on Drivethrurpg for the AD&D 2e version of Dark Sun now, which i was fond of.
Have concerns that the treatment WotC will be along the lines of The Spelljammer slipcase book set or the Planescape one.
That duck, oh dear...Lunar Empire auxiliary mascot?
I know I read in an older edition of Monster Coliseum that Ducks were considered in the gladiator arena as light entertainment and comedy. Yet I think that stretches it?
There is nothing generic about the Drow, the Eladrin, the Shadar Kai, the Duergar, the Orc or even Deep Gnomes. I am so glad I held onto both Mordenkainens Tome of Foes and Volos Guide to Monsters...
..the statblocks in those 2 could not be more relevant than ever. ..
So,...Fizbans Treasury of Dragons still has merit considering the omission of the Gemstone dragons. Which contradicts some of the opinions I got when I watched the live feed about 2024e dragons and asked if Fizban's was incorporated as well as if the Greyhawk/Steel Dragon was incorporated.
Some...
Well, I think they will invest in FR, Eberron is getting a lil coverage. Other than that, more tie ins with MTG.
I would like to see more Greyhawk but I am actually learning a great deal more about the setting from Dm's Guild sources in terms of authenticity.
Oriental Adventures, hmm, okay...
Silly ppl, come out with 2024e, state changes are for the better, in the process unwittingly nerf one of the staple spells of D&D, lol.
Right now am just using 2024e as a bolt on 4 2014e. Think inspire of this, will rule that the Gith are still individuals/person and unless resistant/immune to...
So, basically, 2024e is telling you to create a load of Hold <type> spells in your spell slots as far as the MM is concerned. The same goes for Charm and Dominate spells I suspect. Jeebus, sounds more like the old Deluxe Runequest magic.
