    AD&D 2E AD&D 2e without the verbiage?

I’m not a lawyer. Is Matt Finch available pro bono? :-) I do think 2e is the undeserved “red-headed stepchild” of the OSR and would love to do my bit to fix that.

that cover all the optional rules too. There’s definitely a simpler version of 2e underneath it all that I’m sure could be nipped and tucked into maybe 30 page

    AD&D 2E AD&D 2e without the verbiage?

I have done exactly that. I use it to run at the table. Still runs to 81 pages lol but in my defense that includes NWPs and some other stuff I’ve folded in from dragon articles for my game.

The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying Added to D&D Beyond

Yep. The only durable way to backup your DDB content is to access it through a web browser and archive the pages to PDF/markdown/whatever. Ugly, clumsy, tedious but doable. I guess you could get hold of some kind of web crawler that can pull it all down into a local replica. I'm unsure if doing...

D&D 5E (2024) Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerûn

Not sure if this was posted already, but the artist who made the (to my eyes, wonderful) 2024 City of Greyhawk map (Francesca Baerald) posted this Forgotten Realms map she completed “for 50 years of D&D”. I wonder if it’ll appear in the Player Guide? It makes this part of the world seem a lot...

D&D 5E (2014) Goodman Games Next Crowdfunding Project: Terror of the Underdeep

I’m excited for this. It’ll be interesting to see how they port the level-0 funnel to 5e (assuming they didn’t do that already somewhere)

D&D 5E (2024) Kobold Press posts 2024 DMG Hit Piece

I wouldn’t jump to that conclusion. Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence* and all that. * or bugs in content management platforms

D&D 5E (2024) Kobold Press posts 2024 DMG Hit Piece

Wow, complete with missing words. I was willing to lean in to the article being a slightly over-egged attempt to position their book for experienced vs new GMs, until I read this. I have a feeling it may not have gone through whatever internal review process they might have (or now realize they...
