the shire is a dead version of england, and the UK watch most of the same shows as you these days. also I live there, and they seem to have no great love over here. the powerful have mostly been rotten here since, well longer than anyone remembers to it end up a running theme

honestly I would make them more enduring in combat. Enduring hardship has always been the dwarf way

halflings live of cozy vibes and the lucky feat. I have never found anything I identify with as I barely identify with anything

I find it sounds to high fantasy to think like that, but the dissolving social contract might be getting to me. are elves an archetype then or have they utterly dominated one then?

where is just someone fundamentally restless and has no clear inheritance the perfect set of well-adjusted person to go adventuring

depends on if they can only ever work there or are just front and centre there. every block of rules should still be gameable in any homebrew would with minimal effort.
