Im just not digging the move to more concrete rules. I really enjoyed the "rulings" feel of core 5e. Not a fan of weapon properties either. It's definitely a personal choice on my end. Not sure what I was expecting, 5e24 feels like a natural progression. I guess I would have preferred less rules.
I was pretty excited for the 5e24 update but now that I have it in my hands I'm just meh. Not really liking the direction it's going. Now I'm seeing that most of the big names are dipping gives me some concern. Who knows, maybe it will interest me more in the future.
No, I'd like to say yes but I'm just not going to put that expectation on my young players. I abstract it. I may say "you pull your last arrow" to add drama but it's rare.
Just watched the interview. Some interesting points in there. I was super hyped for 5e24 and I've kind of set back and taken some time to let it roll out. I have the 3 core books now. I'm just kind of meh now. The monster manual just kind of fell flat for me. I'm still holding on though, I...
I know third party has Humblewood but man I'd love to see Blumeburrow. I can't get enough of that set. Really wished it would have been a 3 block set. Thank the gods its not Aetherdrift haha
I didn't vote, because...we played a hybrid type of theater of the mind and minis. But (there's always a but) we have moved to dndbeyond. The maps feature has been super awesome. The minis have been side lined recently. Big boss battles usually get the dwarven forge and minis though just for...
From the 2000s to now these minis have come such a long way. I have a handful from 3e era and the comparison to the most recent offerings is night and day.
The 2014 DMG was probably one of the three core books I read and referenced the most. It was my favorite book of the 3. I never understood the hate it got when I remember it getting some praise upon release. That book was stacked with great info and inspiration. I get it could have be organized...
Yes, there's bits in it that would have been awesome in the movie. More adventurous parts. The movie is a classic though but I'm glad I read it. I kind of see it in a different perspective now.
