Can you elaborate on this point? I genuinely have no idea what you mean by "future-proof" here. In what sense is the 2014 spell list not future-proof, and how could be be changed to make it so?

How about generations raised on Skyrim, Game of Thrones, Dark Souls/Elden Ring, and the Witcher? Medieval fantasy is alive and well.

I'd say a petrified creature is still a creature. But, if you polymorph it into a different creature, it remains petrified. So, the only way that would be helpful is if you polymorph it into something very small. Turn that man statue into a mouse statue for easy transport.

I would pick Captain Marvel Shazam and his family. The MCU currently lacks any kid heroes,* which honestly feels like an oversight, and he has more cultural cache than any of the options from Marvel's comics. *At least, now that Tom Holland is 27.
