There's a book out in the encyclopedia arcane series (Mongoose I think) called Familiars that expands on the feature and makes them a hell of a lot more useful. In my game I have a wizard who has an elf fighter as a familir. She happens to be one of the party's most powerful combatants.

From what I've seen of roleplaying here, the Heroes/Champions system is pretty popular too.

Warforged, not being robots and all, have very few vital components and no gears. It would be like stealing the "vital components" of a statue.

Except the fact that Eberron still doesn't have that many mages that magic could have an impact with spells that aren't easily commercialised. It may have a higher percentage than most worlds, but not so much that every Tom, Dick and Harry has access to spells. Not to mention that most citizerns...

Because the fight as a whole lasted 12 seconds with the God not getting a single action. I'm all for powerful parties, but seeing the real BBEG drop in two rounds makes me wonder if it was really worth it.

As an Eberron fan, I feel that Forge of War has the potential to be made of almost pure awesome, tainted only by traces of win. Unfortunately, if they do something stupid, like explain the Day of Mourning, the book could be axed by most Eberron fans.
