D&D General Which edition did Turn Undead the best?

Years ago I converted a GURPS campaign to Arcana Evolved, a 3.5 variant by Monte Cook. What I did was give clerics access to some force spells (sorcerous blast, wall of force) and said that they did holy damage (radiant today). However, they only worked against undead, demons, and such. The...

    Tell your overdue Kickstarter story

Masks of Nyarlathotep Prop Set for the Call of Cthulhu RPG https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/16120292/masks-of-nyarlathotep-prop-set/backing/details The props looked great but I think the creator got overwhelmed with the number of hackers and how much they needed to create. I got one part...

Sometimes we did a major battle and they all got to use their big characters. Other times they would have...

    Dice pool game design woes

SuperSystem (and the various other games from the company) used the Goalsystem which used d6 dice pools. You either were going against a fixed target number of successes or more usually as a contest against the defender who also rolled their defense pool. When you rolled your pool: 4 or 5...

Worlds of Design: Game Design vs. Story Framework

Years ago in college when I had lots more free time, I created 10 years of history for all of the regions on some map I had found. If I remember correctly, I used some simple software I wrote to give me ideas (Group X has split, Fighting between X and Y) while I was creating it. Sort of cliff...
