One thing that I changed for skills in my game, which came from WW2: Operation Whitebox and Mothership as an inspriation was not rolling for skills unless they were being applied under stress. If a character has time and the right skill, I reward roleplay by just having the skill work.
If they put out 4 books a year and the demand really is for 5, then one extra book could be up to 25% more demand and 2 is 50%.
The low rate of releases compared to the past was done in the very early days of 5e because they had been pared down to a bare bones staff and they were all scarred...
I think that the amount and popularity of the 3PP material is what lead to the OGL disaster. Obviously the more money Hasbro makes the better. They do charge a royalty for DMsGuild and most of the material there barely sells.
I think they could expand production somewhat of traditional books...
Je suis Quebecois and you are not the police to tell me what I can post. Quebec is floundering and getting worse and Montreal is becoming ground zero for it as the international part is stripped away.
I went to both of the Montreal English universities, btw. Concordia for undergrad and McGill...
I have multiple posts in this thread, including my first one that said it is my home city.
The issue with Montreal is the need for workers to speak French. I speak French well (I used to be fluently bilingual to the point where I thought in French when I spoke it but not I am just bilingual)...
I grew up in Montreal, went to school there and worked there before I moved to the USA. I visit every once in a while and have friends that still live there that I am in regular contact with. I watch almost every Habs game. I even am a Quebec CPA which means needing to train and keep up with...
And I lived and worked in China for 5 years and Singapore for 3. I was one of 2 non-Chinese out of about 5K workers at my location there.
China has a set-up with English language schools and usually there is some benefit in place to help pay for it. Quebec, not so much.
Taxes are also quite...
I was born in, raised in and went to university in Montreal (technically I grew up in Brossard but that was a PQ and very French place when I grew up). I moved away for career reasons in my mid-20’s but I am still bilingual. Just completed an extremely technical ethics update in French to...
If you were from there, you would know that they are more likely to get bogged down in ensuring the working language was French and all the signs are in the right language. Considering that they are targeting a mostly English speaking market, it actually is a negative. The weather really sucks...
Why good publicity for Goodman Games? Very obvious that they did not consider what they were doing and they scrambled to come up with a PR stunt. They are paying off social obligations / debts for a Nazi sympathizer at best.
All the royalties did. They are being used to pay off the debt owed to the previous backers but this is basically paying them. It aslo gave them publicity plus their IP is being talked about.
I grew up in Brossard and lived there until I moved to the USA in my mid-20's. I was an accounting major, so unless we bumped into each other at Hobby World or you happened to take Creative Writing downtown in fall 1986, we probably did not meet then. I bought lots of RPG things at Hobby World...
