Intersting that nearly all the posts I see in this thread are talking about it being a 5 or below, and yet in the poll 60%+ rate it 7 or higher and a full 33% rate it an 8 or 9. Seems to give credence to the idea that the '24 detractors are a vocal minority. For me, the system is a 9. I feel...

Sorcery incarnate is the big piece. Chaos bolt to a lesser extent.

The most popular settings in 5e I would put as renaissance rather than medieval. But not yet industrial. I think most of the OPs reasoning ties to Renaissance just as well.

One of my favorite things about the 2024 class updates is they worked to separate these three classes more then in 2014. The stories were always separated well, but now the mechanics help more with the fiction. Sorcerers especially now feel like the powerful innate specialists of the arcane.

Exactly. D&D adventures are the biggest driving force to acquire new players. Over a decade of 5e, you could watch PHB sales bump up every time there was a new adventure released. It’s also the biggest reason WotC stayed with 5th. So that DMs have a wide range of stories to entice players with.

Ha, yeah they had to figure out something since BM and BLM were taken for very differ t concepts. as for the 13/3. Yeah it’s ambitious, and I give everyone props for even attempting it. It’s either gonna be a masterpiece or explode from within.

You know, this isn't really that crazy. Is it complete coincidence that the UA came out on the same day that the C4 announcement was made? Everyone is assuming Dark Sun, but what if it's BLeeMs home brew world that we're going to see starting in October.
