Spoilers Star Trek Academy [spoiler thread]

Imposter syndrome and/or needing to measure up to Dad's achievements & expectations and feeling that if she is not perfect she is not there. Even if her Dad does not actually expect her to be perfect, the example he has set to her for her whole life (she has mentioned many times growing up on...

Spoilers Star Trek Academy [spoiler thread]

That, I agree with you. That was a decision made in Discovery that they just brought into this show based upon the shared timeline. It makes no sense in-universe if you think things through. That and the Dr. Who TARDIS like interior of Discovery after refit (with turbolifts that create their...

Spoilers Star Trek Academy [spoiler thread]

Agree that the Athena was landed for the episode (and most of the other episodes). In the fiction I don't think it is a very logical way to set things up. It would be a compromise design that would end up being mediocre at doing the things you want it to do (not the best at being a starship...

Spoilers Star Trek Academy [spoiler thread]

Should have mentioned in my last post. I agree that the episodes are getting better. E6 did indeed up the tension and the stakes. Agree that it was compelling. Some of my previous predictions came true, but in a different way then I expected. I did not expect to see the fallout that we got...

Spoilers Star Trek Academy [spoiler thread]

Actually, E4 did not cut off early. It was only advertised as ending early (at least in Western Canada). If you used PVR you missed the end, but watching live I caught the issue and rebroadcast on CTV Sci-Fi is the correct 1 hour 20 min episode. That said, in my area rebroadcast was only at 2...

Spoilers Star Trek Academy [spoiler thread]

Hello, Enjoying the season so far. While certainly some tropes are in play related to young people and school (high school/college in the stars), there is a great deal of other interesting material going on. To look ahead, I think there are two things we can expect (or at least I expect): 1)...

D&D General Does anyone know which products had Elmore's Dragon Slayers, and Proud Of It! art?

Hmm ... I did not play 2E, so never saw the art there as I have never even read any of the manuals. I could swear I saw it as cover art for Dragon, but you are correct it is not showing up in that montage of the first 250 issues. Maybe it appeared after that as a re-used piece of art? Or...

It was a Dragon Magazine cover at one point. Sorry, but I do not know the issue number. Cheers :)

Might be an old post, but still valid. ;)

    OotS #1338

Blasphemy would not normally work inside an anti-magic ray, but a certain globe with eyes is wearing a special contact lens at the moment. Cheers :)

The Linear Guild is Back! (OOTS #1337)

Basically, yes. There is an element of evil twin trope, as well as evil opposite trope involved, but you need to read through their interactions to get to the full depth of the "swapping" that is taking place. Cheers :)

The Linear Guild is Back! (OOTS #1337)

Thank you for sharing. Dim Sun is excellent (imho). Perhaps not what some may expect, but totally on point (again, imho). Cheers :)

    D&D 5E (2024) Let's make 5e specific setting, starting with a pantheon

Please re-read the second sentence of my post. I do not deny that there are deities in both Greyhawk and Forgotten Realms that track directly to a class. But your point appeared to be that the two worlds were built (in so far as deities are concerned) to have one to one links between classes...

    D&D 5E (2024) Let's make 5e specific setting, starting with a pantheon

Eh, not really. Both Greyhawk and Forgotten Realms do have deities that track over to classes, but both of them are much more than that. I will not claim to be an expert on either world, since I primarily homebrew, but in the exploration I have done to steal ideas for my own work there are...

D&D General My Review of the Forgotten Realms Ultimate Bundle (major spoiler alert)

I have had a damaged book in the past and there was no charge by WotC and the way they packaged it, no import duty, customs brokerage charge, etc. All of that was handled by the labeling from WotC. That said, that was all before the recent trade "unfriendliness" between the two nations. Cheers :)
