Rate of fire is a work in progress. I haven't allowed assault rifles yet. As far as revolver goes we use six shooters, one shot is one attack action .

It's the first time I use firearms and to me the type of armor should count, one type might be more effective against certain types of damages than others.

1d8 slashing 2d6 shot at close range for the gunblade, 1d6 piercing 2d8 for the shotgun blast on a successful hit when thrown.

It's more of a revolver gunblade or shotgun spear kind of thing, post apocalyptic world where you make your own weapons. Humans still pass down knowledge of how to make armor with these materials. DND 5e rules.

My setting uses firearms. I was thinking that armor should not be readily bypassed by bullets so I'm trying to adapt materials like Kevlar or polymer ceramics to the rules. A la Phantasy Star. Ideas are welcome.

What l meant was that real magical items are found in treasure hordes not bought at at the local smith. Also I just found out this style of campaign is called dungeon punk with diesel punk elements... The things one comes across online...

Sounds pretty much like what I'm doing. Except your's is more accessible in terms of cost. Items with slots should be expensive though.
