    D&D 3E/3.5 Alternate Vampires. A Dragon article.

Sounds like just the thing to throw at a party with a duskblade, factotum, and archivist. Not that I have anything against 3.5's out of control power creep, mind you.

    D&D 3E/3.5 X1 - Isle of Dread

According to this post over at The Piazza, they were: https://www.thepiazza.org.uk/bb/viewtopic.php?p=301323#p301323 We know that the original Known World campaign that Tom Moldvay and Lawrence Schick ran before working at TSR had Kzinti as a PC race. Later Schick was credited with the...

Campaigns in a nutshell. Adventures in a sentence.

Not a bad idea, but definitely a campaign idea where it makes a difference if the party has a paladin. The DM needs to be careful about avoiding paladin entrapment. No paladin, then it's less of a problem as to how the party resolves things.

D&D 3E/3.5 Is there an active 3.0 Community somewhere?

Gnome bards are something that gets kicked to the curb in my game. Gnomes are and always will be the illusionists. At first, I didn't like the flat bonus of the stat boosting spells because I thought the +4 was too generous, but it makes sense with the math. A +4 increase is always a +2 bonus...

    D&D 1E Favorite Obscure Rules from TSR-era D&D

That was a statement made in irony. I don't agree with underhandedly penalizing a player who is even suspected of looking at DM only material behind the DM's back. As I said, there are players who both play and DM, so they're going to have familiarity with the DM-only stuff. Even Gary ran PCs...

    D&D 2E Jakandor

I never bought the Jakandor books, nor have I felt much of a need to pursue any pdfs of it. I have thought of it as an interesting approach for a self-contained campaign, rather than the excesses of peak 2e. I think a more modular approach to subsettings would have been better for TSR, and more...

    D&D 1E Favorite Obscure Rules from TSR-era D&D

That's how I interpret the "any non-DM player" phrase at the beginning of the passage. I doubt Gary was so obtuse as to not take into account that some groups had DMs taking turns, especially as he co-DMed with Rob Kuntz. Anyway, I'm okay with saying things like PCs can share spells, but they...

    D&D 1E Favorite Obscure Rules from TSR-era D&D

Ah, but it gets better! Players not knowing about assassins being able to research poison is in the book that comes with this little gem from its intro: So not only are these players not supposed to know about one of their class's abilities but if they ask about out of the blue, the logical...
