    Good RPG shop in Ottawa?

I was there in May 2009 and it was still doing well-deserved business. :) Enjoy your trip, Erekose and be sure to check the neighbourhood; Parliament Hill is just a few blocks north of the store. They'll also have the Christmas lights up and all over Elgin Street; snow or no snow, it's a...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo = Play WoTC = Pay?

Azgulor, check Nifft's original post. He isn't arguing that it's railroading at all. EDIT: Sorry, LurkMonkey - I seem to have stepped on your tail...:P

Shadowfell Box set coming in 2011! (an other GenCon announcements)

I tend to think you're right about it being NWN-related too. PoLand is too 4e-related and the FR novels at least have a large following outside D&D; they'll want to attract those people to the game, is my guess.

    Suggestions for non-fantasy rpgs

You might consider Amethyst if you are interested in a mix of fantasy and technology; it's also D&D-based so it would save you and your players learning a new system. It's created by Dias Ex Machina and published by Goodman Games. If you want no fantasy elements at all, please disregard the...

The New Forgotten Realms - (About) A Year Later

I'm another Gray Box player who enjoys the 4e FR; enough so that I've finally started another online PbP in it. I find this edition brings me back nostalgically to the first. I can appreciate that there are those who enjoy the FR solely for its lore and novels but I've never been one of them.

    New Noonage

Psst, you've just been quoted in Dave Noonan's blog: http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13551610&postcount=8 I also agree with you. If a player's done an excellent job in role-playing right before your eyes, then reward him accordingly.

Would anyone prefer spellcasting to stay as it is?

Sorry, I only saw this post after I did mine- very good description! And I agree with you that if it means less powerful spells at higher levels- or less frequent use of them, then so be it.

Would anyone prefer spellcasting to stay as it is?

I prefer changes. Spellcasters are over-powered at higher levels and way too weak at the beginning. If you were trying to roleplay this, would you really take along the newbie wizard without having his more experienced mentor to fall back on? But then I prefer paladins. ;)

D&D 4E Directly from a quote- 8 classes in 4e! (well, now subject to much debate)

Right here, James Wyatt mentions two other classes: duskblade and swordsage. http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13445143&postcount=4 I'm guessing that these are prestige classes/kits/subsets of two other classes. So it's possible that warlord isn't a separate cleric class after all...

D&D 4E Directly from a quote- 8 classes in 4e! (well, now subject to much debate)

Based on James Wyatt's interview: He emphasised the importance of having four core: Fighter, Cleric, Wizard and Rogue. Beyond that, these classes were all mentioned: Fighter Paladin Cleric Warlord Wizard Rogue Ranger Now I've seen the screenshot of the laptop team, which included the...
