D&D 5E What is your current way to roll stats

True, though the Half-Elf's two +1's were already movable, so it just means you can move the +2 away from Charisma to something else. It's by no means a perfect method, but I think it's a pretty good way to add a little flexibility to the standard point-buy.

D&D 5E What is your current way to roll stats

I just started with a DM who uses a stat-gen method I've never seen before but I think I like it. It's standard 27-point buy, but you can move your racial bonuses to different stats if you want. You still have to keep the bonuses the same size and can't stack them on the same stat, so you could...

    CoS Warlock Spell Choice

I'm currently playing a Level 6 Warlock in Curse Of Strahd, let me put my two cents in for Thunder Step. It's the lovechild of Dimension Door and Shatter, and it can be used multiple ways. Walk up to a cluster of bad guys, drop a grenade and BAMF away. Or walk up to an ally who's surrounded and...

    Ranger: Non-HuntersMark Builds

I'm going to be playing a Beast Conclave Ranger(Revised) in a one-shot, and I'm honestly not sure if I'll be using Hunter's Mark. So many of the Ranger's better spells compete for Concentration, and the beast companion can't benefit from Hunter's Mark. Since I'll only be getting one attack per...

    D&D 5E MPMB's D&D 5e Character Tools

You're not being dumb, everyone has different levels of tech knowledge. I'll start at the beginning, and hopefully clear it all up. :) Adobe and Microsoft are two separate companies. One of the programs Adobe created is called Acrobat. It creates documents in a format called PDF(stands for...

Huh? Microsoft doesn't own Adobe, how would they "retire" it? Please cite your source for this information.

D&D 5E RAW: Spell attack rolls modifiers stack?

This isn't how it works. The description for a +1 weapon says it gives you a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made WITH that weapon. The Rod and the Staff grant their bonus to your spell attack modifier simply by holding the items. They say nothing about limiting the bonus to when you use...

D&D 5E RAW: Spell attack rolls modifiers stack?

The Rod grants a bonus to your spell attack modifier. The description of the Staff of Power says "This staff can be wielded as a magic quarterstaff that grants a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. While holding it, you gain a +2 bonus to Armor Clas, saving throws, and spell attack...

D&D 5E RAW: Spell attack rolls modifiers stack?

Yes they stack, since they aren't coming from items with the same name. You get a bonus from the Rod and a bonus from the Staff. What you can't do is stack bonuses from two Rods of the Pact Keeper. If you have two of them, you'd only get the bonus from one of them.

This is probably the best answer so far :)

    Xanathars guide

Yeah, he's definitely not the kind of DM I'd want to play with. Just because he's controlling the monsters doesn't mean he's actually your opponent. And while some magic items are quite powerful, the tables for choosing items to find in a monster's loot are designed to scale appropriately.

    Xanathars guide

Not sure I like the sound of that, "Players vs. DM" isn't a style of gameplay I particularly enjoy. Making a campaign challenging is one thing. But a DM treating the party like his opponent/enemy instead of fellow players can be unhealthy, unless that's the style of game you've all agreed to.

D&D 5E Trying to make player's Warlock Patron more interesting (hexblade)

This is part of what I don't like about the 5e Hexblade, the flavor behind it is "meh" to me. The way they describe it in Xanathar's, the Patron is the "mysterious entity" from the Shadowfell that manifests in sentient magic weapons, but there's nothing that says the Hexblade Warlock needs to...
